The woman who is inspiring me this week is Filipa de Abreu, design consultant for Tory Burch, and a woman who manages to hop all over the world while mothering three children. What first drew me to Filipa and got my attention was her parenting that shines through on her Instagram. There was a post she had written about how much sleep she lost in the younger years of her three children, but now she stays up worrying about the eldest who’s now a teenager and going out on Saturday nights. Her relationship with her children is sweet to see on social media, and it seems there is never a dull moment in her life.
Filipa’s unique and sometimes eccentric character splashes everything she touches, whether it’s her home décor, her dress designs or her writing.
Her home is playful and colorful, spontaneous and youthful.
This year Filipa is raising funds for 27 children in a Jaipur orphanage, through her designs of market sourced fabrics made into simple dresses. Perfect for summer, she makes a small collection of locally sourced printed cotton fabrics that are easy, effortless and elegant. You can find out all about it on Instagram @curated_bazaar.
