Paloma Contreras: The Multi-Faceted Designer

Jun 7

One of my favorite designers I’m going to tell you about today, also shares the name of my second daughter, Paloma. Design blogger turned interior designer, Paloma Contreras, has accomplished just in the recent years of her design career, so many inspiring projects we can’t help but think, “How does she do it all?”

Paloma has been named to ELLE DECOR’s prestigious A-List for the second time this year. With the recent release of her book, a room in this year’s Kips Bay Decorator Show House, a shop opened Paloma & Co., and her first home product collaboration just debuted at Williams Sonoma Home, her design dreams come to life in so many diverse ways.

Through Paloma’s many travels and a passion for things that are handmade and tell a story, a highly curated decor and design shop sprung to life. Paloma & Co. opened with partner Devon Liedtke in a charming restored 1930s bungalow in Upper Kirby. Designers and those who love design can pick up European antiques, original art by emerging Southern artists and even custom furnishings from Bunny Williams Home and Highland House.

You will find Paloma’s signature “modern meets traditional” style throughout the pages of this gorgeous design book, with practical tips. Dream Design Live is the culmination of everything I love about design and is filled with practical advice and never-before-seen photos from over a dozen homes.” – Paloma Contreras

You can purchase Paloma’s book on Amazon.com.

Paloma’s “Spring Awakening” study designed for the Kip’s Bay Show House, with a mix of antique furnishings and custom contemporary pieces, with a bold, jewel-toned palette inspired by the colors of spring.

It’s true that living a happy and fulfilled life starts at home. And it’s all the more reason to make it beautiful, comfortable, inspiring, and a reflection of our unique personalities. Paloma has mastered a polished, refined sensibility while bringing in her clients’ tastes, interests and lifestyles, each home personal to the owner.

Paloma has a modern take on traditional style and it’s always fun to see how she’ll bring in glamour and color to every project.

You can follow along with everything Paloma is creating through her design blog, La Dolce Vita, where her distinct eye for style comes through in every story – decorating ideas, fashion, travel, and beyond.
