Some before scenes of my staircase here below. You’ll see the blue paint coming through in the progress of the non-white paint.
When I designed the staircase, I chose paint instead of a rug – so I would be able to easily wipe the stairs clean and I love being barefoot in the house, so the painted runner feels more natural.
The finish is a gloss by Fine Paints of Europe, verses other finishes that would wear poorly over time. Everyone thinks it’s white paint, but it’s a gray blue color I love.
The lucite handrail, unlacquered brass details and tempered glass give it a light and airy feel that is still classic and sophisticated.
